hey, i'm thinking about upgrading to logic 7 in the near future, but i've also been thinking about getting battery2 first. i know that logic 7 has the ultrabeat instrument, but i have not been able to find a comprehensive list of its feature. i know you can load samples in it, it does synthesis, and you can have envelopes for each sound, but that's about it. here are the features i really like about battery 2 and am wondering if they are in ultrabeat:
1. separate compression settings for each sound 2. separate eq/filter settings for each sound 3. route sounds to different outputs 4. velocity-sensitive sample mapping also, i know that ultrabeat has a step sequencer buit in, but can you still sequence it with midi via matrix edit, hyper edit, etc.? any insights would be appreciated. thanks.

anyone know how i can run max/msp as an instrument plug-in in os x? i know it doesn't work as an AU plug-in or a vst (for instruments at least), but i'm looking for a way to sequence it from and record it to logic platinum 6, other than making it into a pluggo (which you can't even do yet in os x). thanks.

i'm thinking about getting a new desktop system soon and i'm wondering if anyone has any ideas which would be better. the G4 dual 1.25 GHz and the G5 single 1.6Ghz systems are pretty comparable in price right now, and are both right around my price range. software i'll be using: OS X, Logic Platinum, Reaktor 4, Max/MSP. any suggestions?
