Are there any impartial MAC users who also use a PC or AC in line with your music development? Keep in mind that I have been a MAC user since he start of the revolution back in 85, 1985 that is. This yank reads FM, Music Tech and a few others that come from across the pond and plenty of PC appears to be out there. Carillion has a great program going for themselves with Turnkey systems in AC ( Audio Computer). Anyone who has experience with this AC system , well, please comment.
I am expanding the horizon one more step. Using only software so far with my Edirol PCR 30. No other hardware yet.
Software: Reason, Recycle, Strom. Strom is notoriously slow with my G3 iMac.On the G4 Powerbook Storm is much better but really eats up the % of processor quickly. Reason seems to run just fine in either Mac ,and Recycle will not run in OSX ( yucks and more yucks).
Carillion has made a move to the colonies and their website is awsome. But I don't know where to begin. . The turnkey system is catching my eye. My interests varies but leans towards 60's thru 70's rock.
Is the Carillon AC a good next step? Or would another G4 dual processor with loaded ram( 1.0+) and two hard drives. The new iMac with 17" or 20" screen is attracting me as well as dual G4's with a 20" monitor. Other than the IMac everything else is leaning towards $3 G's.
