I was wondering. How come so many studios use ADAT and DAT for recording? It seems that in this day of new technology everyday, ADAT is kind of an antiquated medium. Why not just burn it to CD? Is it because you can record more than one channel to an ADAT tape? Is it better quality?
Does anyone have any specifics on the new bundle offer from Protools (Reason, Live, AmpliTube, Sampletank and T-racks included with all protools systems). The versions of the programs offered aren't full versions right? It says on the digidesign page "Discounted upgrade options to respective full versions are available for many of these five components." but it doesn't say anything about how much the discount is or basically give any specifics about the offer at all.
I was wondering what's the difference between Digital Performer 4 and Logic 6.0. I get the impression that Logic has more MIDI capabilities than DP4 and Logic seems a little bit harder to get the hang of, but can anyone tell me which program is better for different applications (ie. mainly audio production, mainly MIDI production). thanks
I know TDM is for their HD system and LE is for the other hardware (at least I think), but that's about all I know (or think). What is the difference? What does TDM and LE stand for or mean. Thank you
