Technicians / Sound Engineers - Music

I am an actor, singer, guitar player and composer from Mallorca, Spain. I am setting up a personal home studio with a G4 400 mhz, 40 GB of HD, 704 MB of RAM and about to update with MAC OS X and I have a Delta 1010 Sound Card connected to it. I am trying to find out the best software to use with this configuration on my G4 and using the Delta 1010. Thanks.

Hi, I just sold my old G4 without my Delta 1010 PCI Sound Card (and the rack of course) but I am left alone with my iBook G4 and the impossibility of connecting the card to the computer. Any suggestions or ideas or solutions about it? Thank you in advance.

Well, is that simple:
I use the "Audio MIDI Configuration" app to "connect" my Delta 1010 and my Roland EG-101 keyboard for MIDI work on DP4, but every time I close the program and open it again, the "connection", or the "cables" that went from the Delta to the Roland keyboard and back again, breaks up, and I have to make the adjustements once again, everytime, over and over again, and it is not practical nor logical nor nothing!. Is there a way I can do something that will just make this configuration stay as i left it everytime I open or close the Audio MIDI Configuration?

Thanx.

Well, I have just purchased and installed MAC OS X (with all the upgrades that internet allowed me) and the Digital Performer 4, and also installed the Delta-1010 drivers to use my Delta 1010 Sound Card with OS X (Core Audio) and with Digital Performer 4, and I have set up the computer Sound System as "Multichannel Delta-1010" for in and out sound.
Since I did that, I tested how it sounded putting a CD in my computer and played a song, but suddenly, some pops and sound drops started to happen. I tried also a DVD, and a demo song from the Digital Performer 4, and the same problem happened. Then I thought it might be that I have choosen the wrong "Delta" configuration in the Sound System for the computer and I changed it to "Analog 1/2 Delta 1010" for soun in and out, and in the DELTA CONTROL PANEL I made some arrangements so only the Delta 1/2 in and out meters are all the way up in the MIXER INPUT and also I set up the PATCHBAY / ROUTER to "Monitor Mixer" in the Analog Out 1/2 as the manual recommended, but the problem is still there... it feels as if the Delta 1010 is not capable of handling the audio properly and it pops. What should I do? Thank you very much for your help.

I have a MAC G4 400mhz, with 2 HD, one of 20 GB and the other with 40 GB. I use both Mac OS 9.2.2. and MAC OS X Jaguar (the 20 GB HD uses OS 9 and the 40 GB HD uses the OS X), and have a Iomega's Jaz Jet Ultra SCSI card, (the ABP-960U model) and a Iomega ZIP 100 and a YAMAHA CDRW (model CDW8824SX) connected to the SCSI card, but both OS's don't read the external devices, but my old OS 9.1. did.

This is what I have tried to do to solve that problem:

I tried to make the computer read the CDRW with the Roxio Toast Titanium 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, and Adaptec Toast various versions, but did not work at all.
I also tried the "El Gato" software (http://www.elgato.com/freeStuff/cdrwHelper.html) to help me out but didn't work either, and a SCSI probe by Adaptec is useless (nomatter what version).
For the Zip 100, I downloaded in MAC OS X the "Iomega tools" software for OS X, but the sofware keeps ignoring the existence of a Zip connected to the SCSI card.

Please, let me know if there's a way I can make these two devices work with OS 9.2 and OS X Jaguar.

Thank you.

Sincerely:
Alex Tejedor.

I would like to know if the configuration on the topic title you see is stable enough to use. I haven't put up the MAC OS X and the DIGITAL PERFORMER 4 yet, but would like to know if you think that's a good combination with my DELTA 1010. Thanx.

P.D. Ah, and if you feel that other software is better for my conf., please let me know.
