Hey musicians!! I've been working on trying to setup a decent studio to start out on... this is what i've come up with (i haven't bought the audio equipment yet though, i need feedback):

computer specs.... G4 933 w/1.25 gigs ram, 200gb hd space, OS 10.2.

-Cubase SX
-M-Audio Delta 44
-Behringer MX1604A Mixer
-possible affordable studio monitors ? (suggestions welcome!)

Ok this is how it would be set up - the delta 44 has 4 ins and outs, the mixer has up to 4 individual outs, I will assign the stereo output to one of the outputs on the delta 44, which will loop back into the mixer's monitor volume/headphone out.

I dont really use synthesisers because i play indie/punk music, so please, PLEASE tell me what you think of my possible future studio. I am very strapped for cash, so this is what I came up with, thanks to the help of the many music stores I've visited. Is there other programs suggested over cubase? Pro tools is out of the question because I can't afford any of digidesign's equipment... or can I? My price range is under $400... software not included.

Thanks,

Hello to all of you knowledgeable musicians-

I am a college student who doesn't have much money to spend on a personal home recording system. I am a guitarest/singer/songwriter who wants to expand to being able to record more then one track at once. A friend in the music industry suggested the digidesign 002 rack, but unfortunately it's a little out of my price range... I'm hoping to spend under $700, because all the rest of my money is going towards important things such as an education blink.gif . Does anyone else have any suggestioons on what to purchase? I have a G4 933 w/ 1.25 gigs or ram and all that good stuff... Thanks!!
