I need some suggestions as to which Mac (and amount of RAM etc) and sequencer would be suitable for these tasks:

1. Playback of 24 audio tracks, with plugins on a few tracks (6 tracks max).
2. MIDI capability - at least 16 tracks, able to work well with soft synths/samplers,
particularly NI's Battery and Absynth.
3. Playback of all audio and midi tracks simultaneously.

Regarding sequencers, I have had experiance and am very comfortable with Pro Tools, although I've recorded audio only (on a Powermac 8600/250 with 128mb ram) and am still not very familiar with MIDI. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

edit: I haven't really set a budget yet, but TDM/Protools HD systems are definately out tho.
