Hello there,

Whenever I boot my brand new G4 dual bootable, dual 1.25gig processor in 9.2.2, I get static noise from it (through speakers, line in, or Cd, and also when I use a headphone in the front socket of the g4). i have tried everything, clean install, zapping the Pram, erased the hard drive and done a clean install again, switched off all other equipment, taken out the Ram and pci cards, i still get the static noise.

However, when i boot up in OS 10, the noise disappears. I want to work in 9.2.2 though, that's why I bought this machine in the first place. The noise is very annoying to say the least.

has anyone any experience with this?

I have been on the phone with apple for half the day!

thanks,

Ulli

Sorry no!
But, ( it's a long shot ) hows the quality of the of the electricity you get from your local supplier.

I have seen recommendation from some users at "Unicornation BBS" where audio noise problems have disappeared after they installed a good "ups" with better power supply filtering and powersurge protectors and the like.

( I readily confess I dont understand this difference between OS-9 & OS-X )

Have tried taking the power to your computer from different outlets in your home/house/studio?
