It won't change from 48khz? That's a little strange.

Try going into the Audiophile USB control panel. Are you using the analog outs or the SPDIF outs? I wonder if that would have anything to do with it.

AC-3 encoding?

If you figure it out post back here, i'm curious.

i got it fixed, it turned out that the analog and digital where both on so it consentrated on DVD format, i left it on analog and now it sounds great, thanks anyway, hoped i helped you on another solution that you now know the cause.
