In other words, you weren't able to get it working on your system? Not sure I follow your post exactly.

Could you be a little more specific? I installed the update and am working fine with my 2408mk2 and the pci324.

Unrelated to the above: I got another bug report from lazyrighteye on the Mac Pro Audio mailing list!

To add to the growing list of audio/Panther issues... I recird a lot of live audio. When working with 16 bit, 44khz, stereo audio files in CD Spind Doctor (comes bunded with Toast 6 - and I use for marking tracks before burning in Toast), I get spinny color ball of death or CD Spin Doctor quits alltogether.
Just thought I' dpass that one on. If you need/want more details, lemme know.

Anyone else see this?

I've found a couple of other Panther related audio app. issues.

1. Moog Modular V does not work (crashes on launch) for me under Panther (Mac OS X 10.3). (Does anyone else have this problem?)

2. Amplitube Live (Amplifier/effects simulator) no longer works under Panther. Actually, it's probably not really Panther, so much as QuickTime 6.4 (which is installed by Panther). In Mac OS X 10.2.8, QT 6.4 caused the same problem with Amplitube Live. However, in Mac OS X 10.2.8, users could downgrade from QT 6.4 to QT 6.3 using an Apple provided re-installer, which returned Amplitube Live functionality. Unfortunately, the QT 6.3 re-installer does not work in Panther.

I hope both of these are fixed soon.

Take care,
Jay

P.S. Has anyone gotten either (or both) of these applications to work in Panther? If so, how?

THere are also problems with the EXS24 in Logic, but I do not know if it is an 10.2.8 bug not solved or it is a new bug :
After an overlod message, substained notes of multy layer instrument does not "substain" any more ! like Sam horns !
Working ok for the instrument with only one layer ! like B3 !
Also Logic crashes when you quit
Logic also made me a 15 GB log file of errors !

Emagic told me they where working on it

Configuration : G5 2x2 + 2.5 GB Panther

Is there an article somewhere giving all the "audio new of Panther"

It's not sure if this a mac OS 10.2.8-10.3 or a G5 problem. I have the same one: Virtual Sample memory disk streaming of EXS24 does not work at all with my 2x2 Ghz G5- long notes break off, processor overloads crash the program, although tey are hardly used.

another anomality: Load time of Logic is extremely long- longer than on z 400Mhz Powerbook. It's initializing Core Audio with MOTU828 that takes ages.

Hmm, sounds like an Emagic update is due. The problem that happens, of course, is that changes take place in an OS right through Gold Master, leaving app developers little time to adjust. Have you heard anything from Emagic?

I'm upgrading this week so I'll have some Panther reports soon for everyone.
