I am trying to run Protools on an iMac with a Yamaha S90. Before installing the driver for the S90, I could get Pro Tools to load and run. Since installing the correct driver for the Yamaha S90 onto my iMac, I have not been able to get the Protools software to load up. It gives me a system message of "unexpected quit".

Any suggestions????????

First things first…

On what OS are you? 9 or X?

If you are on 9 and use OMS uninstall OMS and the S90 drivers. trash the preferences.

Install OMS, THEN the S90 drivers. blink.gif wink.gif

Thanks, I tried trashing the preferences and now the program runs.

Now I have a new problem of the S90 not talking with the iMac. I'm runing OS X. The S90 has been set to use it's USB cable, and the Protools Midi Setup program sees the S90. I followed the instructions that came with the MBox to configure the AMS, but there's still no sound coming from the iMacs speakers when I hit a key. The volume is turned up. Any ideas?

The USB is used for midi, for audio you whould use some audio cables out the SU in the mac wink.gif save yamaha did something to send the audio this way.

Now If you have the SU90 plugged USB for MIDI and audio into the mbox… it -should- work…

double check all set ups (sound in system preferences, AMS and PT) after that I'm stuck

Thanks, I think it's something in the AMS that's not agreeing. I'm trying to send it midi using the USB. Hmm.... PT is really making me work for this one. huh.gif
