Hi. I've just ordered one of the new 12" powerbooks. i'll be using it to produce running pro tools and probably logic.
what is you opinion on partitioning the hard drive. as i understand it what i would most likely be doing is having one hd for all my programs, plugins etc. and using another one for all my audio files, session files and so on.
apart from the obvious advantage of easily being able to initialize the second hd when it comes time to begin another project what are the other benifits (if any) of doing this? would you recommend it??

ideally you should an external drive for audio recording purposes... the internal drive especially on a laptop is very slow and will probably chug once you start getting really demanding from it such as 15+ tracks of 24bit audio. You should really consider adding an external firewire drive (good fast one) for your audio recording.
partitioning is good for huge drives but its not as important as it used to be with older drives.
