hello mac musicians...

i'm new to the forum...

here's my issue:

i am attempting to gear up our studio...
i have twenty-four tracks that i currently record to alesis adats...
my goal is to switch to hard disc recording...
once tracks are layed down, i'd like to transfer song files to a powerbook g4 for mix-down and mastering...

does anybody know what hardware exists for the purpose of importing song files into the powerbook g4?
i believe that a PCI-424 card (motu) would work on a desktop system...

if there is another place on the macmusic forum site that unpacks this issue - a re-direct to that location would be appreciated...

many thanks...

MOTU have several very good Firewire audio interfaces available, these would work fine. If you don't need to record any more than 2 tracks simultaneously you could go for the Digi M-box from Digidesign. There are lots of interfaces around, I would tend to chose Firewire over USB though. Finally, you could get a PCMCIA audio interface.
