OSX has been with us for a while now. It's safe to say that most important and "professional" software is now OSX ready. However there are three major products, which just happen to be umongst the ones that choose to use heavily, that are not.

Waveburner pro
Soundiver
UAD-1 DSP Card

Why on earth is it taking so long to develop OSX updates for these products?

Does anyone have any information on this?

First, editors are usually small companies even if widely known.
Also, developers have a lot of work to do, sometime even a complete recycling of code and of their way to work, a UNIX OS is a very different beast.
Some happen to have trouble decifering Apple documentation on AudioUnits, AudioCore MIDICore…

well, some must be bad coders too… rolleyes.gif

Also they need to have stable OS platform available (you can't release a software for an OS changing some important internal services right before you release your software…), same for computer… Some were desparate to have a G5 at the end of summer.

etc.

Well a long list of causes, and some are getting to answer this faster than others.
