How can i make my ibook work just like if i had cool Edit Pro... i have Deck 3.5 and Peak 3.2, an imic and my ibook 800. I have Lots of latency and get a lot of clicks and pops in my recordings all the time... I'm beginning to think i was better with my old PC, capturing audio with the Onboard Line In.

Please somebody.. help me!!! what can i do ?
Should i just buy a new usb audio capture device, and will it work fine with my ibook?

Um, I could actually use help on this too. Just made the transition from PC to Powerbook G4. I used CoolEdit on my old computer to mix down from my analog 8-track, use a little compression, etc. I've been looking at music recording programs for the Powerbook, but everything I've seen looks way more complicated than I need. Is there anything simple and easy, similar to CoolEdit, for Mac systems? At this point, I'm primarily going to be using it to mix down, but I would like to have multitrack recording capability so that I don't have to replace the 8-track when it eventually dies. Thanks.
