Titanium 867 G4, 768 Ram+ Mbox. Even with the smallest session, only 1 stereo track running, no plug-ins, pro tools only runs for 5 or 6 seconds. Then sudden stop. A message warns me "Cpu is holding off USB audio. Try increasing the Buffer size...etc." Tried several buffer/CPU % settings, nothing happens. The cpu meter is always at idle level, but all of a sudden it jumps to clipping level, and this causes the stop. I noted that the cpu meter jumps to RED even with no playback at all. Please help me.

try checking your settings to make sure that you don't have virtual memory on... actually, i suggest cretaing a new set of extensions that use base OS9 extensions and then add any extensions that your music software uses and run this set for your music work.

Still have probs after this... try trashing prefs... then reboot and reset prefs and see if that makes a difference... still happens then trash software and reinstall and try again... still happens then seek Digidesign Customer Support... that is part of the price of your Mbox so might as well use it wink.gif
