I am planning to get this powerbook G3. I am in a place where it's expensive to get a new mac. Right now there's 1 secondhand powerbook G3 333 Mhz on sale. I'm thinking of getting it. My question: will it give me a good system to work on ? i'll basically use protools or peak LE, or maybe digital performer. Can i expect much from it ? The system got 160 MB Ram (planning to upgrade) And what external soundcard would you recommend ? please not digidesign/MOTU. i can't afford it right now. p/s: sorry if this was in the wrong thread. i'm studying audio engineering in SAE http://www.saemalaysia.com

The lombard is a second hand powerbook. i have no other option and not enough money. even this lombard i don't know whether i'll get it or not.
well i think it would run good. there are G3 DAW in my college. It's 350 Mhz and 384 MB Ram. and it's a DAW. (although we have G4)
and the lombard is 333 Mhz. maybe it won't be so slow.
i don't know. try and error ?

dude, help me out. my budget restricts me to second hand mac. i can't afford a new mac!
let see... for the same price i could get either: a. PowerMac G4 Beige / 400MHz / 4GB / 256MB/ CDRW or b. PowerBook G3 / 333MHz / 4GB / 256MB / CD
which do you think can give me the best performance ? of course the beige seems good but i want portability. please give me you advice.
thanks. pojam.
