I am in the market for a USB interface that will work for OSX. I am looking for OPTICAL IN and OUT and hopefully MIDI IN and OUT. I want it to work with an ASIO driver so it works for CUBASE SX. Can Anyone help me?
Thanks, Jay

The problem with that is that I own a Fostex FD-8 Digital Multitracker that records on an external disk drive (Zip). I want to find a way to use this as the mixing consol. It has digital ins and outs (optical and coaxial) and midi, so I figure that I could just buy a converter. Its not as easy as that though. Everything I look at either doesn't have ASIO drivers or doesn't have optical in (only out) or something... Have any other suggestions...
Thanks Jay

Get the new MOTU 828mkII. It's got the optical in/out and MIDI I/O, and 8 analog ins & outs. I own the MOTU 828 (original model) and it's great. The new one, the mark II, adds MIDI I/O and 96k quality. Woo-hoo! Plus more cool features. MOTU is the only brand I would trust for cutting-edge features for MIDI and audio in conjunction with OS X. I use DP4 with the MOTU 828 and the MOTU MIDITimepiece AV USB MIDI interface. Here's the MOTU 828mkII: http://motu.com/english/motuaudio/828/body.htmlLater, tater.
