I'm trying to get my recently purchase Mbox to function on my iBook G3-700. When trying to create a new studio setup in OMS, the MBOX isn't being detected. The USB light is on (on the MBOX), so I'm unsure about what the problem might be.

The MBox is audio only and has no MIDI ports. On that note it would make sense that OMS cannot detect it, as OMS is STRICTLY for MIDI devices. I assume that you are running 9.2.2 since you mentioned OMS. As soon as you load ProToolsLE, your mac will have all drivers DAE ect that is needed for your MBox and you can start making tracks. If you need MIDI IO you will need to get a USB MIDI Interface of some sort.
Hope that helps. ::TD:: -------------------- |

I didnt' know that OMS is a midi only software package. If this is the case, why does the Mbox installation procedure have you set up a new studio in OMS? Either way, I moved and tried to record a track into PT. Just a mic into an XLR jack on the MBOX. Had a new track that was ready to record, and I could hear my input through the headphones (connected to the Mbox). However, when I pressed record, I showed nothing coming through on the track. I've surely missed something, eh?
