Plug the usb midi-inteface into one of the usb-ports on your computer.
Turn the gadgets on, computer, interface synth. Open Sound/Midi preference pane and select the Midi-tab. You should see your midi-interface. Klick the Add-button & add your synth. Beware that you MAY NOT have a ready template for the Yamaha S90. I got my templates (Kurzweil-200 _ Proteus-2000) when installing Digital performer 4.11. If you dont have a ready template just add your synth manually. You may have to adress your synth through midiports in your interface and midichannels, -instead of seeing the actual patch-names and instrument-names of your synth.
