Looks like we will stay two nights in Paris before going to the conference. How is driving in Paris? better to take public transportation? How is the train/ bus system between Paris and Chantilly? is it better to rent a car? Just ordered several Paris guides from Amazon, it may give me a better clue. Looking for a little nightlife, Jazz clubs. My wife is a professional negotiator, so I'm wheeling and dealing, begging & pleading for a laptop. Saw a man on the street, with an American and a sign that said boycott German and French cars. mmm. Funny , no French car dealerships in town. The Microsoft parking lot is full of Porches, BMWs, and Benz. I don't they will be returning them anytime soon. Cowboy GW is stuck on stupid. thanks for the info

Looking for a little nightlife, Jazz clubs. Well, driving is not bad... it's terrible!... Traffic jam all over the place...That's why I'm using a motorbike (the only way to cross town easily and quickly). On the other hand, the car could be useful to go from Chantilly to Paris Center (suburban transportation: Ouch!)... My bet: use the car to drive from Chantilly to Paris, park the damn machine as soon as you enter Paris border (near to a subway station) and use Public Transportation to visit (we have a lot of those: lots of subway lines and stations, lots of busses...). As far as Jazz clubs are concerned... can't help, sorry... I never go to such clubs... But you can always try this: -Jazz Club Lionel Hampton Hôtel Le Méridien Etoile 81, bd Gouvion Saint-Cyr - Paris 17e or this: Petit Journal Montparnasse 13 rue du Commandant-Mouchotte, 14e - Tél: 01 43 21 56 70 ...
