I need to know which software sampler is better, kompakt or kontakt. and when kontakt for osx will be released.

umm... I realize I don't keep up with new software as much as I used to but "kompakt"? does this software sampler exist? who makes it?

Kontakt is one of the best samplers you can buy. It wins many awards and its best attributes are it's ease of use and flexibility. Most likely the only sampler you'll ever need. Kompakt is, as you might guess a scaled down, dare I say 'compact' version, of Kontakt. It doesn't have as many features but uses the same awesome sampling engine. There is also a price difference too with Kontakt being about $400 and Kompact around half that.

As for the release date of the OS X versions of both Kontakt and Kompakt, N.I. is currently stating September 2003.

has anybody used the mpd16? thinking about getting it and and incorporating it with kontakt for osx. i have bitheadz unity session, and i am disgusted with that company and their product. anybody out there with the same feeling?
