Hi Zeze. Its better to keep your audio/video files on a second hard drive. It allows one drive to work with the OS and software and the other to gather the media files. This will allow for more audio tracks simultaniously.
I dont think you should worry about the computer crashing too much, as long as you have legit software, your computer shouldnt crash (mabee once every few months when you have been pushing it to its limits bu thats all!) You are probably used to using your old 9600.
I didnt bother partitioning my drive for OSX and OS9 and I havent had any problems yet.
Norton utilities hasnt been perticularly nice, it has actually slowed the computer down a bit (I think). Although partitioning ther HD is necessary.
