I thought this might interest any readers trying to connect legacy MIDI serial interface
devices to Macs under OSX:

It's a generic serial driver which runs under Mac OS 10.2.x (Jaguar) and is compatible with many devices
which no longer have development support, like Opcode Studio interfaces. As far as I know, this is the only
software of its kind, created by GeeThree, which makes serial port hardware cards for newer G3s and G4s.
Please email me if you've found others software like it.
