I have just downloaded the Logic 5.5 update for OSX and everything is fine except that I can't get the EXSP24 working. I know that VSTs don't work in OSX (I think?) but I have been told that the EXSP24 isn't a true VST? Does this mean that I can use it with OSX? I have tried to install it but it just keeps automatically starting OS9 up......
Any ideas, or am I just being really stupid?
Thanks,
J

The EXSP24 is a VST-plugin to be used with any VST-compatible software (NOT Logic under OS X - if they will make an Audio Unit version of it, or if you can find a VST - > AU converter, it would work. Emagic says they have had plans to make it AU, but we´re still waiting...)
The EXS24 is not VST. It´ s a sampler built in Logic and requires that you buy it and they give you the authorization code. It works under OS X just like Logic 5.5.
EXS24 is a sampler and costs more than EXSP24, which is a sample player. Hope this helps.

There is an upgrade path from EXSP24 to EXS24. I don´t know how much is it, I reckon some 100-200€ or more. There are also other sample players/scaled down versions of samplers like the Native Instruments Kompakt, but I have no experience of that.

Are you saying that EXSP24 owners get a free 12 weeks code for the EXS24?! That would be great. Hopefully they will eventually make the AU versions
