got an imac g4 with logic 4.8 platinum and an oxygen 8 midi keyboard. problem is i don't have a manual for logic. i can only use the quicktime music for sounds, how do i get new midi sounds and install them for logic. also how can i sample something like an audio c.d and sample a bit and get it on to logic? not sure what else i might need and to be honest feel like there's a higher force trying to delay me from using logic!!!! is there any other vital hradware or software i need and if so what is a reasonably cheap option? can only access the net on p.c, is it possible to burn things from p.c and use it on mac? cheers, sorry for being such an amateur.

pc apps will not work on mac unless you run something like Virtual PC software emulator and its slower than native mac apps. you need VST plugs to get sounds from midi other than quicktime. There are a few free VST plugs on net... look in softwares here. you can use itunes to pull aiff files from CD's and then import that .aiff file into logic using drag and drop or the "apple button-9" audio window... you should really consider purchasing Logic for the manual to get the most from it... it is a beast and would hate to have to learn it without a manual. cool.gif
