I'd get in touch with Presonus themselves, if I were you. There must be a lot of people like you (I'd be, if I had the money for a decent audio interface) wanting to take the plunge and get a decent non-usb interface. Is there any way you can do your music-making under OS 9 for the next month or so? I'd be inclined to do that, all the while enjoying the extra tube preams and the MIDI facilities you wouldn't have with an 828. The other thing to bear in mind is that M-audio announced a 4 in, 4 out firewire interface at NAMM (I think those details are correct ) I hope somebody else can more directly answer your question, but hedging your bets, I'd say go with the Presonus
