The San Francisco 49ers officially named Nick Mullens their starting quarterback Tuesday for the team’s Week 10 matchup against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football at Levi’s Stadium. The quarterback informed the media during Tuesday’s post-practice availability.Monday will be Mullens’ second consecutive primetime start after making his debut against the Oakland Raiders on Thursday Night Football in Week 9. The 49ers’ backup-turned-starter completed 16 of 22 passes (72%) for 262 yards Nick Mullens 49ers Jersey , three touchdowns, zero turnovers and a nearly-perfect 151.9 quarterback rating.Mullens was inserted into the starting lineup after C.J. Beathard struggled to grip the football throughout the short week leading up to the Raiders. The former starter injured his throwing hand in the second quarter of the 49ers’ Week 8 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. It was Beathard’s fifth straight loss in five starts this season, now 1-9 in his career as the 49ers’ starter.Mullen’s stellar showing is on the short list for greatest debut performances ever by an NFL quarterback. He played so well that Twitter verified his account during the game.“You never know until you see someone,” Kyle Shanahan said post-game Thursday when asked if he was surprised by Mullens’ debut. “He didn’t surprise us in terms of, the game’s not too big for Nick. He’s very poised. He is always locked in. The guys, they respect him.”Mullens gets another chance to impress Monday under the lights of primetime against a vulnerable Giants defense.Golden Nuggets: Onto Week 2 Got some links to give you after this awful week Authentic George Kittle Jersey , made exponentially worse thanks to the Raiders realizing they were the Raiders and letting the Rams win. But first, I just want to touch on the point I made last night. In 2015, the 49ers faced the Minnesota Vikings to open the season. It was Jim Tomsula’s first game and the 49ers were somewhat of a question mark. What followed was some of the worst football I’ve ever witnessed, but the 49ers came out somewhat dominant in the end. Sure, they had issues, but it seemed like they could be a fun team to watch once they stopped looking sloppy. The 49ers ended up going 5-11 and there was nothing fun about that season. Nothing. The Vikings http://www.sanfrancisco49ersteamonline.com...richburg-jersey , meanwhile managed to win the NFC North, achieve a playoff birth, and would have won their playoff game if not for Blair Walsh missing a last second 27-yard field goal (that ‘ole Seahawk luck came in at the right time). Here’s the point: Both teams went in completely different directions. Now, the 2018 Vikings are not the 2015 Vikings and I tend to think the 49ers would have gotten punked pretty hard had that 2015 team played the 2018 Vikings. Despite the loss, the Vikings’ season didn’t end—and if the 49ers could beat them that night, you wouldn’t be wrong to think the Vikings weren’t winning anything that year. The 49ers get the Lions http://www.sanfrancisco49ersteamonline.com...d-warner-jersey , and this is a much better way to gauge how the team will play. The Vikings was good experience. Hopefully they can mimic the 2015 team and get themselves a playoff birth. Onto the links.
