I can not figure out why midi sometimes simply doesn't work for me when I connect my Roland XP-30 to my MacBook Pro and its very frustrating. I have spent hours trying to sort it but I simply cannot understand the Roland manual and I don't know anything about midi. I had it working fine before but I don't know why it worked then but it wont now.

Can someone give me a simple, step by step of how to set it up? Is there some setting that I need to change on my Roland or is it a setting on my mac? I am trying to record in Logic Pro so maybe its something in Logic's preferences.

Thanks in advance.
