the .caf format is comparable to wav or aiff in quality. it's not a compressed format.
Apple switched to .caf to support metadata and larger file sizes, among other reasons.
your loops are probably 44.1/24 bit (or perhaps 16 bit). high quality.
highlighting a file in finder window and pressing Command-I will give you an info window that displays the sample rate, though not the bit depth.
cheers.

hi there

i am running windows 7 on a bootcamp and newestr
os maverick
and i can not get any info on the khz or the amount of bits on those files
but i found a way

that was better then using get info on mac and using file info get details in
winows 7

its just use vlc
because its the only windows player that does support this file

i would like to have bigger filesizes on those meaning better
audio quality guess i have to find an external
or is there a way to convert the caf loops to a bigger file like high res wav or aif

well good. i believe you'll have to look elsewhere for higher quality files than the loops you've got. while you might open and convert them to 96/24, they'll keep the level of quality, and not improve in sound.
