Audio/media Browser Logic 9, Audio/Media Browser Options

I am using logic 9 on a new imac i7 with 4 gig ram. The browser takes 3-5 seconds to flick between samples when auditioning?? This is odd.

I previously used Cubase 5 and it was instant, on a little pc core 2 duo laptop!!

I cant flick easlily between the broswer and Sequencer as well, the little catherine wheel of death appears and the sytem hangs for 5 secs

I have read somwhere that the L9 broswer hasnt been devloped in years. I cant understand why there is not visible wav like cubase either?

Any ideas?? Is it due to ram, my sample being on an external drive???
