Hello, I have the following problem using LogicAudio5 and an Audiosport Quattro USB Interface on a G4 Mac (OS9.2.2): After starting LogicAudio the Asio driver cannot be detected, allthough it´s in its place in the Emagic ASIO Folder. I tried several re-installations using the newest driver available, still it won´t work. I have output over the interface using itunes, but not with a LogicAudio demo song.
Any ideas what´s wrong?

actually, this combination (Audiosport Quattro and LogicAudio) was recommendet by the guy working in the music shop, who had no problems with it. Anyway, he does not have any idea, either.

It would appear the audiosport is not supported by Logic. The audiosport appears to be a rather obscure interface...I've never heard of it, and it may be best to go with something that you know has been tried & tested with Logic, such as M-Audio, Edirol, Emagic EMI/26, the MOTU range, Swissonics, Apogee etc...(getting a bit expensive now)
Good luck; also, one small thing...did you select the ASIO SUB DRIVER (the rectangular box to the right of the ASIO tick box in Logic's audio driver's window? The audiosport may have never been initiated if you were not aware of this extra box within which to select your audiosport's driver.)

Nobody can take from you what you give freely.

yes thats a good point. Do check you have done as Teiwaz suggests -it's a commonly overlooked cause of early frustrations. Failing that, if you have a spare drive and can get a copy of 9.1 OS, maybe try running that. Some companies (cough!!!-tools) have been known to overlook or been slow to respond to incremental Os upgrades with suitable drivers. Particlarly if it's not their latest flavour of the month. Do you have the same OS and computer as the chap in the shop? First lets eliminate the chance its this, then think about possible conflicts with the software.

thanks for your replies. My solution: i brought the audiosport back to the shop and got myself the new emagic 6/2 (it´s a bit cheaper, actually) Everything´s fine now. Looked like a hardware/software problem... DNArtist

Hi Karina, as long as you need multiple outputs, try the audiosport, but take your ibook to the store and try it out there. I had some bad experience with it, and the support is sh...! If two outputs are enough, the emagic 6/2 ist probably a solution. It has midi inputs. And it works!
