In the world of interfaces it'll change things for sure. Plus, now we know why iSteve wasn't believing into the netbook market: why make a bad computer when you can build a good pad?  Last, overall, it keeps the bad habit of the "closed ecosystem", with the appstore refusals, and quirks, no GNU/GPL and the like, and Apple that can disable apps without asking beforehand. See the demonstration of the FSF outside the conference center. As far as I understand Apple, I long to have VLC for one on this.

I hate to sound old-fashioned, but what about a sheet music display? Also, there's quite a few decent synths/music apps for the iPhone that will be MUCH easier to use now.

Closed system? Not sure how long it's been since you've used an iPhone or iPod Touch, but they're not rejecting much lately, so who cares wether or not you download it from the developers site or through the app store? Click this link if you have iTunes installed: bOObies for iPhoneI'm personally very anxious to see all the iPhone music apps to take advantage of the larger screen.

Sounds good , however the idea is to have an flat discreet external wireless monitor as i use a macbookpro side of stage for running Cubase transport of Audio . ( play , stop , next marker , previous marker ) . Thanks for your input.
Is there a flat discreet external wireless monitor out there yet ?
I was hoping the ipad could do the job.

On the app refusals, there's one popping out every now and then. I can understand it can be a job to review 140000 apps in 2 years, but a clear system for refusals would have avoided much hassle. The bad habit for Apple to block developers voicing (be it on the API issues or on refusals) doesn't make much sense, save for a bad image. The system is closed yes, proprietary OS (not that I mind), and all apps coming from one source, with developers having to say yes to whatever Apple wants. There are reasons, but it's not a very friendly environment for developers in the end. And all the GNU/GPL world is out… Apple does this in the sake of security (and a captive market too  but it's good to have in mind the limits it imposes. Now, I'm impatient to have an idea of the power inside the beast, as I'd like (even) better music apps than in the iPhone  And also, a figure of latency while controlling from it

yeah, iPad changed everything, it's a big change all over the world! Now, along with the iOS4 released, it's on the fire again! I, Not a fangirl - that said, I just might be one now.... the iPad has already changed the way I do my work - the iPad is here to stay! I love my iPad. It has almost completely replaced my personal computer. For the things I do... Is is perfect! Much nicer than any CPU I have ever owned. All my other computers would do a lot of things I would never use it for, and do it painfully in the process (slow, buggy, etc.). When you get down to what you do most on you personal computer... the iPad does almost all of the things an average user needs, and with a much much nicer U/I. Easy of use, fast, and efficient. The other computer manufacturers could learn a thing or two from this, but even if they do... they will probably screw-up the one they come out with by adding all the crap back in again. Ugggggg!!!! I am sticking with my iPad.
