Does anyone know what the state of play is? I know it's early days, but Reason has been an OSX app for a while, and Propellorhead say that Emagic have the info to employ Rewire 2.

Also, I don't understand why Emagic haven't done a drum machine.

Guess I'll have to stick with Cubase in OS 9 for a while longer sad.gif

I had exactly the same reply from Propellerheads a couple of months ago. I also e-mailed Emagic yesterday about this very topic, so maybe they'll tell me something new when they reply. The only positive sign is that Logic Platinum 5.4 has support for REX files which 5.3 didn't, so maybe they're inching towards ReWire support. Hope they inch a bit faster.

In the meantime, Cubase SX (out now) does support ReWire and it's got a groovy new drum machine (and the new Waldorf-designed synth). Grass is always greener etc sad.gif

As I've only just got Logic, I'll update to SX as well. I do a lot of stuff in education, so I need both.

While I'm at it, an option to export audio would be very welcome. Despite all this, I really do like Logic .... honest

I am also waiting for the true marriage of Logic and Reason via Rewire. People say that Cubase SX does it very well with very low latency. If that's true, then this winter i'll have to get that rather than upgrade to Logic 5.

Here's the wonderfully illuminating answer I got today from Emagic tech support to my question about future support for ReWire:

Emagic Technical Support has no advanced knowledge of product development and shipping dates. Please keep checking www.emagic.de for announcements and updates.
Emagic Inc. Technical Support

Well, that's much clearer now, thanks. blink.gif

Logic 5.3 is great and I love having it running in OS X, but it looks like we'll just have to wait a while longer for ReWire. Or use Cubase SX in the meantime.

Has anyone tried using the new MidiClock to link Logic and Reason?
