Help With Amplitube2 Options

i am using cubase sx3 and i have amplitube2 plugin
when i am using amplitube inside the cubase it's working properly
but if i try to use it with out the cubase there is an error message- " amplitube 2 cannot find hardware audio
device for input or output . check 'audio midi setup' panel "

i hope you can help me although my computer is pc (acer) and EMU 0404 audio device
