Hi I am trying to import some audio from a CD in to audio desk. I have managed to import the audio into the soundbite list but when I try to play the soundbite I get a message up saying "locate your Waverform editor" I am also unable to drag the soundbite into the edit-window. I have tried to import the audio in both waw and mp3. Have anyone got any ideas on how to do this and if it is possible to do in audio desk.

Many thanks
Viil

it's a two step process, it seems. audio desk, which i believe is the scaled down recorder that ships with the MOTU audio interfaces, seems to want you to "rip" the audio off the CD before importing. dollars to doughnuts you've got nothing but a pointer to the file on the physical CD sitting in your soundbites window.

to rip a CD and create an audio file on your hard drive use any of several utilities. itunes could work. I use Peak. then drag the ripped file from it's new folder on your drive to the soundbites window.

that's my best guess.
