I am sure that the problem is with Vista and not with the UA 1000. I have been reading on the web that Vista does not support MIDI well, if at all. I have been able to use MIDI functionality program to program using a virtual MIDI cable (like Maple MIDI)on the Vista machine.

Connecting a Macintosh generating MIDI messages to the Vista computer, I was not able to drive the Kontakt3 sampler. It was not receiving any MIDI messages. Using the same setup on another PC with Windows XP, everything functioned perfectly.

Does anyone have any experience driving committee programs using the MIDI port on an Edirol UA 1000 or any other USB based MIDI input device in Windows Vista?
