Realtime Arranger Software?, Anyone know of anything? Options

I was wondering if there might be realtime arranger programs for Mac.
I know about the pc (yuk) program "Jammer" & also wondered if it would work for mac via virtual pc.
The closest thing I've seen for mac is band-in-a-box. The only problem with b-i-a-box is that it doesn't arrange in real time. Instead.., one must typ in each chord & then play back.
I want something that will literally follow my lead.

you might try a free demo of an app called Live that allows you to arrange audio regions in real time and add and adjust fx in real time... plus it use time stretching to keep things of different beats aligned if you like to use lots of loops.

Live indeed rocks. You can, however, (ab)use Logic's environment to do similar things for you, using Touchtracks and a nice custom environment. I don't know what exactly you're trying to do, but you can trick Logic into doing almost (!) anything.

I've checked out live & it's great but it's more for audio than it is for midi.

The effect that I'm looking for happens to be a feature found in Rolands RA-800 & the G-1000.
These arrangers are able to produce dramatic realtime accompaniment.
You pick a style & a tempo & as you play..., it automatically generates the background music as you're playing.
The virtual band follows the note progression of your left hand.

This feature can be found in any little cheezy-pop radio-shack casiotone keyboard but the sound quality is very toyistic.

The ones made by Roland are pro. quality & very authentic.
I just wish they had a software version of it.

Nonetheless..., I'm interested in trying logic out.
I'm actually an OPCODE fan.

At the summer NAMM show I saw something that might work for you. I don't remember the program name, but the company is Mibac software (I think it's at www.mibac.com). Give it a try.

P.S. The reason I didn't find out much about it is the guy manning the booth looked familiar to me. He turned out to be a former professor at the college I went to (and president of the company) so we spent too much time talking about old times and mutual friends, never actually got around to discussing the software. D'oh!!

A program that does what you're describing is Harmony Assistant.

You can download it free and play around with it with some limitations, and it only costs US $65.00. It's quite an ambitious little program for that price and does a lot of nice things.
