After 6-days of caffeine induced insomnia, Heavyocity Media, Inc. is proud to announce the official release of EVOLVE!

HEAVYOCITY is a collaborative of pro composers and sound designers in the audio industry. Their mission is to create a collection of world class virtual instruments for today's modern composer and sound designer. The philosophy is simple: Provide cutting edge, inspiring instruments and sounds that supercharge creativity, formatting them in a way that enhances productivity. Evolve is a V.I. geared toward Dramatic Film, TV and Game composers and Sound Designers. It is also a very strong creative tool for remixers, recording artist, and producers.

We look forward to being an active member of the community here and receiving feedback on our debut instrument.

As I said in my PM, it's better on our press release mailing list and then in the news than in the forum (forbidden by the rules). wink.gif

Thanks anyway. smile.gif

EVOLVE Update 1 is now available for free download

The update will fix minor issues in some instrument presets (eg. smoother loop points, velocity sensitivity fixes). In order to make the installation process as smooth as possible, we have included all of the instrument and multi presets in the update. You can simply unzip the update folder and replace the Instruments and Multis folders in your Heavyocity/Evolve directory.

You can find the update in the download section of http://www.heavyocity.com

**This method of overwriting the presets will cause all user re-saved or altered presets to be erased. To avoid this, please follow the instructions in the "readme" enclosed in the zip file.

For more information please refer to the Heavyocity website, http://www.heavyocity.com and the Heavyocity forums, http://forum.heavyocity.com/phpBB3

thanks,

Neil

Happy Summer (or Winter as it might be) everyone,

We would like to extend our thanks to everyone for the kind words and support. All of the feedback and insight has been very helpful. We are pleased to share some news and reviews about EVOLVE that are surfacing in print and online.

Computer Music Magazine (CM129 - EVOLVE Review, "Micro-EVOLVE" exclusive content on magazine DVD, Eye On The Industry Spotlight Interview).
If you've never picked up the UK-based Computer Music Magazine, now would be a great time to check it out. EVOLVE was reviewed in CM129 (p. 107) and racked up a perfect 10 out of 10. "EVOLVE is sonically superb... While EVOLVE excels at the dramatic and will thrill composers, any musician would appreciate the massive array of slick sounds present in Heavyocity's impressive debut." In the "Eye On The Industry" spotlight Dave talks a bit about EVOLVE and the future of Heavyocity. To top it off, the stand-up crew at CM invited us to program a large assortment of exclusive content for the CM Play engine. It can be found on the magazine's accompanying DVD (again, if you haven’t checked out CM, the bonus disc showcases a cross-section of plugs and VI's from a wide variety of developers and artists- a great way to discover some new and unique soundware). A majority of the sounds (over 70%) were created especially for Computer Music readers. You can download a pdf of the full review and interview HERE.

Music 4 Games (EVOLVE Review)
Music 4 Games, as the name suggests, is a fantastic site with feature articles, composer interviews, and reviews of gaming soundtracks and virtual instruments. This past week, M4G posted an in-depth review of EVOLVE, stating, "There is a lot of bang for the buck here... A must have for professional composers and hobbyists alike." Feel free to take a peek at the complete write up HERE.

Electronic Musician Podcast (August 1, 2008 Edition)
"It runs the gamut... They've designed all these sounds to go well together.. A very nice collection." Electronic Musician's Mike Levine and Len Sasso give a great introduction to EVOLVE and provide an audio example of some of the individual sounds that are included in "Big Screen Devastation," one of twenty five 8-part Multis that come stock with EVOLVE. Take a listen to the podcast HERE.

Finally, we'd like to let people know that we are working to complete our next milestone with EVOLVE. This update will be a free download for registered users, offering hundred’s of new presets ranging from tweaked kits and loops to ambient pads in 5.1 surround. Keep an eye out for some sequenced instruments using Kontakt 2’s incredibly versatile Flex Envelope Modulator.

Thanks again to everyone who has shown an interest in Heavyocity. We are truly excited about what lies ahead!

Sincerely,

The Heavyocity Team.
