I have an Alesis io14 which refuses to communicate with the host (Mac G4, dual 1GHz, OS 10.4.11)
I have reinstalled the driver, but still no FireWire communications. The port is working. It sees my laptop in Target Disc mode. Has anyone else solved this problem? How? I need to find out if the unit is defective. -------------------- NO, you can't have any more monitor! 130dB is quite enough!

Did you use the same firewire cable for the Alesis and the trial of target mode ? Try with another cable just in case…
Does the mac see the unit? in apple menu>about this mac>more information and check the firewire connections there. And under the audio midi setup, and audio system preferences? If not, next move is to try on another computer if you can. -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home

Make sure you have loaded the latest Alesis drivers from their site. The io|14 and io|26 in box drivers gave me fits as well.
However, I have a friend who had similar issues and had to return his for a Saffire box (the store no longer stocked the io|14 for whatever reason). Also, make sure you have the latest firmware installed on the io|14, also available from the Alesis site. peace -------------------- |
