if it has to be OSX then I would wait for at least a month or two... then maybe there will be more options for interfaces and drivers should be in alpha by then wink.gif

Lots of interface -especialy USB- don't *need* third party drivers. If they are compliant to the USB audio definition, they work just fine.

I'm using an Event EZbus and the USB sound works just perfectly, wihtout any extra drivers

BusError,

Does your EZbus work as a control surface too for Logic 5.4? I read up on it and it sounds like an excellent piece of equipment. Like to hear what you can do with it.

If you are happy with the bandwidth of USB (max 8 channels in both directions at once, so record 2, playback 6 or vice versa), then you can buy an interface for use with OSX right now. If you want to get a FireWire interface, Midiman has something really cool coming in January.

I don't have logic. I asked for a developer copy a couple time, and never got any answer or even acknoledge out of them.

However, I can use the EZbus as a control surface in most other things I tried, like Reason & Sibelius.

It is indeed a very nice piece of kit. You might be aware I'm preparing a driver for the EZ8 card from the same manufacturer. That gives 8 24 bits 48kHz channels in and out, in full duplex. Plugged in the EZbus, it's just chrismas day everyday ;-)

Hello,

I work at a dutch apple dealer and i chose to sell the M-audio interfaces, because they already had Os X support a long time ago and installing is a piece of cake......

I'm using an RME HDSP Cardbus Interface with the RME Multiface breakout box. OSX drivers for the system hit beta last week (after an alpha had been out for 2 months) and there's been another bugfix since then. Still, the driver is far from finished (PBook crashes when putting it to sleep, problems with Macs clocked faster than 667 Mhz and some other issues) - but the RME newsgroup is very helpful and their customer support replies within a few hours.
