i dont know about that combination. I have a macbook (with tiger) and an oxygen8 and they dont work together. (the m-audio guys told me that i need to get a usb powered hub for me to check if it works, but that it probably wont work either....)
tip: go to the store with your computer along and check if it works with that midi, as macdady said, dont buy before you are completely sure that your hardware will work fine.
peace

its a little weird because the oxygen is recognized as a "Keystation Series" by the mac's "Audio MIDI Setup", even more, inside Ableton Live i can see the oxygen 8 active and all, but no MIDI signals are generated, i.e. the "MIDI in" indicator does not lite up. Weird uh?

hi, just to report that i "solved" my prob. notice the quotation marks. what i had to do is buy a new midi controller (m-audio again,. because it was cheap) and this one does work. apparently old m-audio keyboards don't work with new computers..
so my new setup is m-audio oxygen 61 and the same software.
