Hi everybody,

i wondered if it is possible to use two 828mkII with Logic Pro, to be able to use 16 audio in- and outputs. I read that Logic didn't allow to use 2 interfaces simultaniously. is that still true for Logic Pro 7.1?

I haven't tried this with the exact interface you mention, but recently I had to set up a 16 track facility with two RME FireFace 800s. If you have Tiger (OS 10.4), you can now create Aggregate devices within Audio Midi Setup which can combine as many interfaces as you have connected. Once this is done, selecting Aggregate device within Logic's Audio Hardware and Devices will give you access to all ins and outs including using one interface to monitor the inputs of the other. In my case this gave me 56 inputs from the two interfaces!

I would assume that to do this you would be advised to cascade FireWire connections rather than USB2 connections for better continuous through-put.

Yup I did it... works fine. As Jim said selecting Aggregate device within Logic's Audio Hardware and Devices will give you access to all ins and outs...
