Hey everyone,

Firstly, I'm new to this forum, so hi! I work with a softsynth company called KeyToSound, and I'm working to get some news out right now.

I wanted to get the word out that the demo version of our Flagship Synth, Nexsyn, is now available at our webpage, http://www.keytosound.com. We're very excited to have this demo out - it has taken a lot of time, but we have been working to make sure that it will be representative of our software and of what Nexsyn can do in it's full version.

Nexsyn comes with a 4GB library of keymapped sounds (our streaming file format is .XWM) when bought in it's full version. The demo comes with 40mb of keymapped sounds to give you an idea of what Nexsyn can do.

When you get the demo, you'll find a folder in the presets labeled "XWM Hybrids". These presets were created by taking two XWM (sample based keymap files) and assigining them to each their own oscillator. You'll find an "AhhhChoir" keymap file mashed together with a Vibraphone keymap - each sitting there ready to be modulated together with FM, Filters, etc. We didn't really get into setting up massive modulation routing (which is completely possible), but instead set them up so you can tweak on them when you get the demo.

Some people think that Nexsyn is just our old INetSynth with a new GUI. Well of course we used the technology we developed for INetSynth and used it in Nexsyn, but they really are two entirely different products. For those of you with memories of the INetSynth (having used it), I welcome you to download the Nexsyn demo and give it a try. You'll immediately see and hear many many differences.

Many VA instruments are geared towards dance music or car commercials. With Nexsyn, we're trying to bring the synthesizer back to rock and roll. Of course you can achieve excellent dancefloor rollers with Nexsyn, but recently, we had a session where the guitarist of a band we were recording wanted to record an old upright piano we have in the studio. Having our MIDI controller (and old Fatar) in the studio, we asked him if he'd like to lay down a Fender Rhodes instead and he said "Hell yes". So, we called up Nexsyn right in the mix and loaded up a no frills Fender Rhodes and we laid down the MIDI track. He was really happy, but we weren't because the Rhodes just wasn't sitting right in the mix - it was sharing to many frequencies with the vocals and nylon guitar. We switched from the Rhodes to a Hammy B3 and it sat right in the mix as though the whole track was built around it. You'll be able to hear a sound clip of this at our webpage soon (the band is finishing their recordings now), but we want to hear what YOU can do with Nexsyn, and what you think of it.

Bottom line - try the Nexsyn DEMO in as many different genre sessions possible to get an idea of what it can really do. I would love to hear what you guys think about it. If you have technical issues, please make sure to drop us an email and we'll get you taken care of.

Hey everyone, hate to ping my own thread, but I wanted to mention that if anyone out there got a funky build of Nexsyn Demo for the Mac, hit up our downloads section and grab it again. We fixed an issue that was bugging us. If you have any questions, drop me a line. Word.
