The weirdest thing just happened as was beginning this post. I was about to tell you that I could not assign any Logic based instrument or plugin at all from the channel to the left of the arrangement section as you suggested. I then opened Logic to double check what you were saying and sure enough I couldn't do it. Then, the weird thing happened. My ARP 2600 plugin crashed. Not only had I never been able to call it up before but it's a VST plugin. I was prompted by the crash via an Apple, on screen message. So I checked the sends again and sure enough all plugins are now available AU and VST (absynth, Arp 2600, Battery, and 21 GarageBand sounds. There are no Logic instruments available though.So weird!
I have no clue what happened, but I think i like it. :-) I know Absynth & Arp are VST and AU but not sure about Battery but I'm guessing it's both as well. It's cool things are sort of working but the fact you have no logic instruments is weird. Are you on Logic Pro or Logic Express?

Yes, you're right, Absynth and Arp are VST as is Battery and a couple of others that are working very well. I've added more since as well as added some AU plugs. After a couple of days I'm getting the hang of Logic but still . . . no Logic Instruments. I'm using Pro, not the Express version. I'm at a loss about the Instruments and dying to hear what they sound like.

Hi,
It is possible to import mp3's
what you need to do is open the arrange page in logic and also the window where the mp3 file is saved on your mac. Shrink these so you can see them on your screen (or if you have duel screen move one window to one screen one to the other) then drag the mp3 file across onto an audio track.

Thanks bro. Nice tip. How about samples from within the Sample Editor? Can you only insert Samples from the Sample Browser?
