I am looking to record some environment sounds at theme park. Since I'm just getting into this, I don't want to spend a lot of money on equipment until I both understand what I'm doing, and determine if this is something I'll be doing a lot.

After some research, I'm comsidering in-ear binaural microphones to use with the Sony MZ-RH1. My question is with the portable recorder. I need something that's easy to carry around and where the audio can be easily transferred to a computer. With the MZ-RH1 no less than $300, I'm not sure I want to spend that much money just yet. Is there a lower cost alternative to start out with, or is that a great match for the money? Perhaps the Zoom H2?
