Hi there,
A film production company is uploading excerpts of my score on their movie's website, which is cool, however, the sound has dreadfull aliasing ! As it seems I am the only one who cares about this, does anyone out there knows how to avoid this nasty noise ? Source audio is clean mp3, Joint Stereo at 128 kb bitrate. I read that anti aliasing, low pass filters do exist… Are there any Plug Ins available, can I manage this issue within MOTU Digital Performer ? I am using DP 4.61 on G5 dual, running OS10.3.9 Many thanks for your help. Liberty |

There is no such thing as a clean mp3! The act of turning an audio file into an mp3 creates all kinds of distortion and "aliasing" I know it takes longer, but you should upload full 44.1k 16 bit aif or wav files (before any conversion to mp3). If the site only allows mp3s then experiment with doing special mixes of your music using different eq (DP does have eq with low pass filters) and compression (try different levels of compression to determine which gives best results when you butcher files)before turning files into mp3s. Also, if you must use mp3, try the highest setting (320 kbps bit rate).
good luck |
