ok, another question re: setting up a laptop studio on powerbook.

i'm wondering if there is significant advantage to paying the extra $200 for logic platinum versus gold. for some reason, i always hear of people using platinum (but never gold ?).

i've read the list of feature differences on emagic's website, but can't tell what the difference really translates to in 'real life' in the studio...

does anyone have any opinions on gold vs platinum?

thanks

analog tara.

i use the gold myself... i seen that gold would support 24bit with version 5 so that was key to choosing over silver and gold is supposed to get rex support in 5 too I think... platinum has more track count and is 24bit and comes with some surround sound processing features I think. I also think it comes with 2 or 3 virtual instruments. There are more added features with platinum I am sure but those are ones that come to mind... i am limited to 24 tracks due to my audio card so platinum wasn't that important to me.
