Do you mean mp3 audio stream over the internet?
Anyway, for mp3 streams, i'll recommend MacAMP, or Audion (icecast stream). For quicktime streams, dunno... Maybe quicktime player itself? For real stream, you'll have to purchase a "pro" version of realplayer. Personnaly, i find a trick with Digital Performer, its MAS creates a virtual soundmanager output, so you can record directly any program's audio output in DP! Really convenient, IMHO. Good luck, bye. |

Yukulele,
I am running a dual processor 800MHz G4 with DP3. I would really like to record any program's audio output in DP. How do I do this? Thanks in advance for the tip. Dano10 |

Here we go Dan ;-)
Let me say i'm using DP 3.02 (dunno if it works with the 2.7 series (anyway, i think it's a MAS thing,; get the last one!)), running on top of OS 9.2.2 and MAS 2.33. MAS is configured to use an US-428, here. 1) launch DP, and wait :-) 2) back to the finder, in the Sound Control Panel, select MAS (here is all the secret) in the output section. 3) back to DP, set an audio track in DP with the "Sound Manager 1/L" or "Sound Manager 2/R" as input(s) (or both in stereo) See manual for more infos. 4) put the track in record mode (suspense, here). 5) back to finder, launch any sound managered application (soundapp, quicktime player, any standalone synthesizer or drum machine, etc.) 6) play the sound 7) back to DP, check the input level, record, :-) 8) that's all folks, enjoy this GREAT feature of MOTU Audio System, it saves my butt many times. If the app supports soundmanager (dunno of any that do not!), it's cool. Does Cubase, Nuendo, Logic or Pro Tools can do that? Probably... Bye. |
