"I just tested the waves v-series quickly and compared to ua neve se plugins. The compressor has totally different controls so they were difficult to compare. The waves v compressor is ok sounding but I prefer the ua 33609 which gives more control and also imo sounds better.

Then I tested the eq's. They don't have that smooth ua neve sound but they're still quite close. I compared to ua neve se plugins so the difference to the ua neve high dsp versions is a little higher. uad neve se and non se plugins sound a little more musical and are easier to use than the waves. I didn't like how the waves v-plugins GUI responded. If you click and drag a button of ua neve plugin it works smoothly and does exactly what you were trying to do but with waves v-plugins it's definitely not smooth and the plugins are much more difficult to operate. Sometimes when you try to click something it doesn't respond at all because you should click another way and there's bad stepping when you turn the knobs. So, the sound and ease of use is better with ua neve plugins.

Anyway, the waves v-series plugins are very light to run as are the ssl series so if you like waves, you may want to purchase them too when the v-series bundle will be available.

The ssl and v-series waves are one of the better waves plugins but their wup system is sick so I wouldn't buy them anyway."
