gipsiad,
Check out Version Tracker for all your Mac (and Windows/Linux) software needs. There are links to various music, as well as other, applications that are freeware, shareware, demo, commerical release and professional upgrades. The search feature is good, just don't limit your search too much until you get used to the way that Versiontracker lists software. Should get you going down the right path. Oh, Mac Daddy, thanks for the shout out. I just got back from the Southpark Music Festival in Fairplay, CO, USA and for anyone who is into Indie music of various stripes, I highly recommend it. Panel discussions with some of the brightest minds in the industry (Jello Biafra, Jeff Price, Michael Verdick, Ted Stein, Billy Harvey, Ryan Williams, anyone?) and many great bands. Next year sounds like it will be even better than this one. Same sense of Music Community I fell in love with on these boards. Everyone is just here to help each other out. Glad to be home and able to check in with the members of this board. Glad to know community still exists! peace. This post has been edited by deaconblue: Thu 14 Sep 2006, 04:58 -------------------- |

Deaconblue!!!! Wow... Sounds perfect... You were rubbing shoulders with the 'Big Boys' 'Fat Cats' 'Money For Nuthin' Chicks For Free Posse' I'm jealous... Glad you're back... Seems some Members are having problems, but I'm not sure if they are being solved or not. Members who have had their problems solved should say so. Often I read the problems and watch to see how they are fixed... but... No one is saying either: "Thanks it worked" or "Nope"...
I heard another G5 Quad Horror Story... Ditto for the ProBook. Both of these stories had to do with poor performance regarding Music Production. They seem to work fine around the 'Office' but suck relating to music. I apologize for my iFoot in Steve Jobs iAss remark. It was childish. Perhaps I'll have my Solicitor contact Macintosh Main Office... Oh that should only cost several thousands dollars for nothing... Nope... Sorry...iFoot. Nike in a Mac... Commercial value? Steve Jobs I am only joking about kicking your ass... For iSpy Security I could be put in a real jail for a virtual remark... Still crappy about the Quads... iFinger. Deacon great news. I know you are going to be one of the many in the Mac Forum to make it. You're talented musically, solid technically, focused and you got dat spiritual thang goin' for ya... I mean with a name like Deaconblue... |

The real question is "can I make music with freeware and shareware on the macOS platform?" the answer is yes. There's enough low cost software around to care about that.
For exemple, Metro as a sequencer, Audacity for audio squashing, and a bunch of plugs around. Don't look only on the volume of apps available but also on the time you'll save with the OS (I think, it's up to you to find out). The most important part in the equation is still you in the end, whatever pro software or freeware you use. -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home
